Minerals for Health Are About More Than Just Taking Supplements
Most people do not think about minerals until something feels off.
Low energy. Brain fog. Muscle cramps. Anxiety. Poor sleep. Constant fatigue. Feeling “not right” even when blood work looks normal.
In this episode of The Superhuman Blueprint Podcast, Kristan Kershaw explains why many of these problems may be connected to mineral imbalance, poor electrolyte balance, and the modern decline in nutrient density.
Why Minerals Matter More Than Most People Realize
One of the biggest themes in the episode is that minerals do not work alone.
According to Kristan, minerals constantly interact inside the body. You cannot fully understand magnesium deficiency, copper deficiency, or even iron overload without understanding how minerals depend on each other.
She explains that copper plays a major role in moving iron throughout the body. Without enough bioavailable copper, iron may not move properly, which can contribute to inflammation, oxidative stress, fatigue, and other mineral deficiency symptoms.
The conversation also challenges the idea that more supplements automatically equal better health.
Too much of one mineral without balance can create new problems.
The Missing Link Between Hydration and Minerals
The episode also explores the relationship between hydration and minerals.
Kristan explains that water alone is not enough. Electrolytes like sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium help regulate fluid movement inside and outside cells.
She warns that highly filtered water like reverse osmosis water may actually strip away minerals if it is not properly remineralized. That is why she recommends remineralized water and regular intake of trace minerals to support better hydration and energy.
It is not just about drinking more water.
It is about helping the body use water properly.
The Bigger Problem With Modern Food
Another major part of the conversation focuses on food quality.
Kristan explains that modern agriculture has dramatically reduced the mineral content of many foods. Even foods that look healthy may no longer contain the same nutrient density they once did.
That is why she emphasizes nutrient dense foods, regenerative agriculture, organ meats, and a more diverse mineral rich diet instead of relying heavily on synthetic supplements.
The episode also dives into the root cause protocol, oxidative stress, and how chronic stress can deplete minerals over time.
At its core, this conversation is really about learning how the body communicates before symptoms become bigger problems.
If you have ever felt exhausted despite “doing all the healthy things,” this episode will probably resonate deeply.
