Biological Age May Be Hiding the Most Important Part of Aging

One number can feel reassuring. But it can also hide the part of your body that needs attention most.

On The Superhuman Blueprint Podcast, Drew Griesel sits down with Paul Coletta, co-founder and CEO of Vero Bioscience, to talk about a question more people are starting to ask: what does aging really look like inside the body? Their conversation centers on biological age, why it can be useful, and where it can fall short.

The most interesting idea from the episode is simple. Aging doesn’t happen evenly. One organ can be aging faster than the rest of you, even when your overall picture looks fine. That matters because a single score can create false comfort. It may tell you that you’re doing well while missing a more specific problem tied to organ health.

Why Biological Age Can Miss What Matters Most

Paul explains that aging is not just about time passing. It is more about damage that is not being repaired well. That is where proteomics becomes interesting. Instead of giving you one broad score, it can help point to what may be changing at the organ level.

This has real value for preventive health. The goal is not to collect more numbers just because we can. The goal is to find information that helps us act earlier and more clearly. That is a very different approach from waiting until symptoms show up or relying only on broad averages.

For leaders and high performers, the practical takeaway is not to obsess over every new metric. It is to ask a better question: does this data help me make a better decision? That is where precision health starts to matter. When you focus on useful signals instead of endless health data, you can make smarter choices about sleep, recovery, training, and follow-up care. Over time, that is what supports healthspan and makes healthy aging more practical.

That is the real shift. Biological age becomes more valuable when it helps you find what needs attention before it turns into a bigger problem. The future of better health may not come from more information alone. It may come from knowing which information actually matters.
