Most People Do Not Need More Medication. They Need Better Wellness Habits.
Dr. Charles Glassman spent more than 30 years practicing internal medicine, but over time, he started noticing the same pattern over and over again.
Many patients were not sick because of rare diseases or mysterious conditions. They were overwhelmed, stressed, exhausted, disconnected, and stuck in unhealthy routines.
In this episode of The Superhuman Blueprint Podcast, Drew Griesel sits down with Dr. Glassman to explore the connection between wellness, mindset, lifestyle choices, and long-term health.
The Doctor-Patient Relationship Is Broken
One of the strongest moments in the conversation comes when Dr. Glassman describes seeing up to 50 patients a day in traditional medical practice. Patients waited hours. Appointments lasted only minutes. Conversations became rushed and transactional.
That experience eventually pushed him toward concierge medicine, where he could spend real time with patients and focus on the bigger picture behind their symptoms.
According to Dr. Glassman, most medical visits are connected to two things:
Lifestyle choices and behavioral health issues.
That realization completely changed how he approached healthcare.
Wellness Starts With Lifestyle and Mindset
The episode dives deep into the relationship between stress, emotions, and physical illness.
Dr. Glassman explains how chronic stress keeps the body stuck in a constant threat state. Over time, that can impact inflammation, energy, blood pressure, sleep, and overall health.
The conversation explores topics like:
integrative medicine
lifestyle medicine
behavioral health
the mind body connection
preventive healthcare
healthy lifestyle habits
medical empowerment
Rather than treating symptoms alone, Dr. Glassman believes people need tools that help them better understand themselves, their habits, and their environment.
Why Exercise and Wellness Habits Matter
Another major focus of the episode is movement.
Dr. Glassman talks about the importance of functional fitness, exercise, and maintaining physical capability as we age. Even in his 60s, he continues doing CrossFit and prioritizing movement as part of his overall wellness routine.
But he also makes an important distinction:
Health is not just physical.
Mindset, relationships, stress management, spirituality, and daily habits all influence long-term wellness. According to him, exercise and mindset are two of the strongest tools people have for improving quality of life and longevity.
Wellness Requires Curiosity
One of the most practical parts of the conversation centers around becoming more involved in your own healthcare.
Dr. Glassman encourages patients to ask questions, research their options, and have real conversations with their doctors instead of passively accepting quick solutions.
The episode also discusses the balance between conventional medicine and holistic health approaches, showing why curiosity and open dialogue matter when making health decisions.
If you want a deeper conversation about wellness, integrative medicine, mindset, and creating healthier habits that support long-term health, this episode is worth listening to.
